School Life

Sport at TEA.

Sport at The ENGLISH Academy is about much more than competition — it builds character, resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong love of physical activity.

School Sports

The TEA Talons.

Our school sports teams compete under the banner of the TEA Talons — representing The ENGLISH Academy with pride, determination, and sporting excellence.

Physical Education is a core part of the curriculum from Early Years through to Sixth Form. Beyond lessons, students are encouraged to take part in the wide range of after-school sports clubs, house competitions, and inter-school fixtures.

Sport at TEA develops more than athletic ability — it nurtures leadership, resilience, fair play, and a healthy competitive spirit that serves students throughout their lives.

A Message from the Head of PE
Mr Scott Weninger
Head of Physical Education
“Together in Purpose, United in Teamwork”

At The ENGLISH Academy, our Physical Education and Sports Programme aims to provide every student with a high-quality and inclusive sporting experience. We recognise the important role that physical activity and sport play in the overall development, well-being and growth of our students, both inside and outside the classroom.

With this in mind, TEA offers a wide range of after-school sports programmes designed to encourage participation, teamwork, leadership and personal growth. We are proud to have over 44 teams representing the school in both domestic and international competitions, showcasing the talent, commitment and dedication of our students.

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including volleyball, basketball, football, netball, table tennis and many more. Through sport, we aim to foster resilience, sportsmanship, discipline and a lifelong appreciation for healthy and active living.

At TEA, we believe that sport brings our community together and helps students develop the confidence and character needed to succeed in all aspects of life.

House system

The Four Houses.

Every student at TEA belongs to one of four houses. The houses compete throughout the year in sporting events, academic challenges, and school activities.
