Principal's Update

Dear Parents

Ramadan Kareem. I would like to wish you & your family happiness, good health and peace as we transition from Ramadan to Eid.

Update

I am pleased to say that the school in terms of organisation & procedure is returning to pre-pandemic days.  For example, the 2022 Graduation Ceremony took place on 31st March 2022 & was a huge success. The programme of IGCSE & IAL examinations has started and will continue until the beginning of June 2022. The school is also arranging for the Saturday Academy to resume from 14th May 2022.  Students in Years 7 to 9 successfully competed in the Mathematics Challenge competition organised by British Schools in the Middle East, coming second overall. Congratulations & well done to both students and staff involved, especially to Mr Sneddon. Year 6 students had a very enjoyable & successful transition day on Tuesday 26th April 2022 when they had the opportunity to experience the secondary school approach to learning. 

Primary Science Day - Thursday 28th April 2022

It was a real pleasure to interact with the various exhibitions and experiments that were on display during Primary Science Day.  The students involved are a real credit to the school.  Their knowledge, enthusiasm & passion for Science is very evident.  

Return to school after Eid

Please note that the school will be closed from Sunday 1st to Thursday 5th May 2022. Students will return to school on Sunday 8th May 2022 with the school day beginning at 7:30 and ending at 14:15.  The wearing of face masks is optional for students but all students must undergo a temperature check upon entry to school.  All students can enter the premises from 7:00 am onwards through Entrance 1 and 3.  Secondary students [Years 7 to 10] must make their way to the roof. Students in EYFS/KS1 & Primary [Years 3 to 6] must go to their classrooms. Those students arriving from 6:30 to 6:55 can enter through the bus gate and proceed to the auditorium.

School Expectations

I would like to use this opportunity to remind you of the school’s expectations regarding student punctuality, presentation, movement in and around the school & mobile phones.  

- Punctuality

The vast majority of students attend the school on time & they are to be congratulated for this.  Unfortunately, a significant minority of students arrive late to school on a regular basis.  This will no longer be tolerated when students return to school on Sunday 8th May 2022.  Please ensure that your child is on the premises by 7:25 to avoid your child being marked late to school & facing a school sanction.  

- Presentation

The vast majority of students present themselves in accordance with the school’s uniform policy. However, in recent weeks some students have not presented themselves as expected - hairstyles in terms of length of hair, forgetting to wear the school tie etc.  This will no longer be accepted.  Please ensure that your child is presented in accordance with the school uniform policy to avoid your child facing a school sanction.

Movement in and around the school

The school will adopt a walk with purpose policy from 8th May 2022 which means that whenever a student is walking from one class to another, leaving the class to go for a break, entering/departing the premises etc then they are walking in silence and in single file.   

- Mobile phones

Due to the pandemic the school allowed students to bring mobile phones into school.  However, from Sunday 8th May 2022 no student is authorised to bring a mobile phone into school.  If a student needs to make a call home at the end of the day they will have access to a telephone.  If a parent needs to make contact with their child during the school day a telephone call should be made to the relevant secretary.

Re-registration

I would like to thank all those parents who have now re-registered their children for the 2022 23 academic year.  This is appreciated.  I would urge those parents who have yet to re-register their children to do so as a matter of urgency in order to enable the school to plan and prepare for the 2022 23 academic year.  

Recognising Student Achievement

Certificates have been issued to acknowledge the academic achievements of students in Years 7 to 10.  Any student receiving a certificate will be invited to a celebratory event taking place on Thursday 12th May 2022 during periods 7 & 8.  

Mufti Day

A mufti day will be held prior to the start of end of year examinations on Thursday 12th May 2022.

End of Year Examinations

End of year examinations will begin on Sunday 15th May 2022 & all secondary students are encouraged to follow the revision guides shared on Google Classroom [GC] and consult the examination timetable. It is important for secondary students to arrive at least 15 minutes before the examination & go to the designated room [the room allocation has been shared on the fom tutor GC]. All examination equipment must be brought to school in a see through bag/pencil case.  In the unlikely event of a student not attending an end of year examination they must provide a medical report.  This will enable the  teacher to provide a grade based on previously assessed work.  Failure to provide a medical report for each examination missed will result in the student not being awarded a grade

أولياء الأمور الكرام،

تحية طيبة وبعد،

أتمنى أن تكونوا قد  قضيتم اياما مباركه بشهر رمضان الفضيل كما اود ان اهنئكم بعيد الفطر ؛ كل عام وانتم وعائلاتكم بخير .

أخر المستجدات:

يسعدني أن أبلغكم إن المدرسة من حيث التنظيم والإجراءات تعود تدريجيا إلى أيام ما قبل الجائحة. على سبيل المثال ، أقيم حفل تخرج طلاب الصف الحادي عشر لعام 2022 في 31 مارس 2022 وحقق نجاحًا كبيرًا. كما بدأ برنامج امتحانات IGCSE و IAL وسيستمر حتى بداية يونيو 2022. وترتب المدرسة أيضًا لاستئناف أنشطة يوم السبت من 14 مايو 2022. 

لقد تنافس طلاب الصفوف من  7 إلى 9  بنجاح في مسابقة الرياضيات التي نظمتها هيئة المدارس البريطانية في الشرق الأوسط، و يسعدني إبلاغكم أن طلاب الأكاديمية الانجليزية قد حققوا المركز الثاني بشكل عام. تهانينا لكل من الطلاب و المدرسين المعنيين ، وخاصة للسيد / سنيدون. كما استمتع طلاب الصف السادس بقضاء يوم انتقالي ممتع وناجح في المرحلة الثانوية في يوم الثلاثاء 26 أبريل 2022 حيث أتيحت لهم الفرصة لتجربة أساليب  التعلم في هذه المرحلة. 

يوم العلوم للمرحلة الابتدائية - الخميس الموافق 28 ابريل 2022

أقامت المدرسة يوما لاستعراض إنجازات الطلاب العلمية في 28 من أبريل 2022، ولقد كان من دواعي سروري مشاهدة مشاركات الطلاب من التجارب المختلفة فى هذا اليوم المميز ، حيث ظهر شغف الطلاب للعلوم خلال هذا المعرض إنهم بالفعل رصيد حقيقي للمدرسة بانجازاتهم.

العودة للمدرسة بعد العيد

يرجى ملاحظة أن المدرسة ستغلق أبوابها بدءا من الأحد الموافق 1 مايو إلى يوم الخميس الموافق 5 مايو 2022. سيعود الطلاب إلى المدرسة يوم الأحد الموافق 8 مايو 2022 مع بدء اليوم الدراسي في الساعة 7:30 وينتهي في الساعة 14:15.

يرجى العلم بقرارات مجلس الوزراء المعلنة في 27 أبريل 2022 حيث سيكون ارتداء الماسك اختياري كما ستستمر المدرسة بالالتزام بالاشتراطات الأخرى والخضوع لقياس حرارة كافة الطلاب عند الدخول . يمكن لجميع الطلاب دخول المبنى بدءا من  الساعة  7:00 صباحًا من خلال البوابة رقم  1 والبوابة رقم 3. و يجب على طلاب المرحلة الثانوية [الصفوف من 7 إلى 10] التوجه إلى الدور العلوى ( الروف) . كما يجب على الطلاب في مراحل الروضة والابتدائي  من الصف ( 1 –6)  الذهاب مباشرة إلى فصولهم الدراسية. ويمكن للطلاب الذين يصلون من 6:30 إلى 6:55 الدخول عبر بوابة الباصات و التوجه الى مسرح المدرسة .

توقعات المدرسة

أود أن أغتنم هذه الفرصة لتذكيركم بتوقعات المدرسة بخصوص التزام الطلاب بمواعيد الحضور والانصراف ، والزى المدرسى، والحركة داخل وحول المدرسة وعدم إحضار الهواتف المحمولة.

- الالتزام بمواعيد الحضور والانصراف

الغالبية العظمى من الطلاب يحضرون المدرسة في الوقت المحدد، لكن هناك قلة معينة ايضا من الطلاب الذين يصلون متأخرين إلى المدرسة بشكل يومي. لن يتم التغاضي عن هذا التأخير عند عودة الطلاب إلى المدرسة يوم الأحد 8 مايو 2022. يرجى التأكد من وجود ابنكم/ابنتكم في مبنى المدرسة بحلول الساعة 7:25 لتجنب العواقب المترتبة على ذلك.

- الزى المدرسى

الغالبية العظمى من الطلاب يرتدون زيهم  وفقًا لسياسة الزي المدرسي. ومع ذلك ، وفي الأسابيع الأخيرة ، لوحظ أن بعض الطلاب  لم يلتزموا بالتعليمات التي تم بيانها سواء من الزي المدرسي أو المتوقع من حيث طول الشعر ، وارتداء الزي الشتوي ، ونسيان ارتداء ربطة العنق المدرسية وما إلى ذلك. لن يتم قبول هذا بعد الآن. يرجى التأكد من التزام ابنكم / ابنتكم وفقًا لسياسة الزي المدرسي لتجنب العواقب المترتبة على ذلك.

الحركة داخل وحول المدرسة

سوف تتبع المدرسة سياسة السير مع الغرض اعتبارًا من 8 مايو 2022 مما يعني أنه عندما يسير الطالب من فصل إلى آخر ،أو يغادر الفصل لقضاء الفرصة  ، أو عند دخول / أو مغادرة المبنى وما إلى ذلك ، فإنه من المتوقع أن يسير في صمت.

- الهواتف المحمولة

بسبب جائحة كورونا ، سمحت المدرسة للطلاب بإدخال الهواتف المحمولة إلى المدرسة. ومع ذلك ، اعتبارًا من يوم الأحد 8 مايو 2022 ، فإنه من غير المسموح لأي طالب بإحضار هاتف محمول إلى المدرسة. إذا احتاج الطالب إلى إجراء مكالمة إلى المنزل في نهاية اليوم ، فسيكون بإمكانه الوصول إلى هاتف الاستقبال. إذا احتاج أحد الوالدين إلى الاتصال بطفلة أثناء اليوم الدراسي ، فيجب إجراء مكالمة هاتفية مع سكرتيرة القسم الخاص.

إعادة التسجيل

أود أن أشكر جميع أولياء الأمور الذين أعادوا تسجيل أطفالهم للعام الدراسي 2022-23 وأود أن أحث أولياء الأمور الذين لم يسجلوا أبناءهم / بناتهم  بعد على القيام بذلك على فى اسرع وقت من أجل تمكين المدرسة من الاستعداد للعام الدراسي 2022-23.

إنجازات الطلاب

تم إصدار شهادات تقدير  للإنجازات الأكاديمية للطلاب في الصفوف من 7 إلى 10 ، وستتم دعوة أي طالب يحصل على شهادة لحضور الاحتفال الذي  سيقام يوم الخميس الموافق 12 مايو 2022 خلال الحصة 7 و 8 .

يوم الزي الحر

سيقام يوم الزي الحر لجميع المراحل  قبل بدء امتحانات نهاية العام يوم الخميس الموافق 12 مايو 2022.

إمتحانات نهاية العام

ستبدأ اختبارات نهاية العام يوم الأحد الموافق 15 مايو 2022 ويتم تشجيع جميع طلاب المرحلة الثانوية على اتباع المراجعات التي تمت مشاركتها معهم على Google Classroom [GC] والاطلاع على جدول الاختبارات. من المهم أن يصل طلاب المرحلة الثانوية قبل 15 دقيقة على الأقل من الامتحان وأن يذهبوا إلى الغرفة المخصصة [تم مشاركة رقم الغرفة على GC]. 

يجب إحضار جميع الأدوات المدرسية الضرورية  للاختبار في حقيبة شفافة / مقلمة شفاقة.  في حالة عدم حضور الطالب لاختبارات نهاية العام ، وهو أمر غير مقبول ، يجب عليه تقديم تقرير طبي يبرر غيابه. و هذا سيمكن المدرس من تقييم الطالب بناءً على العمل الذي تم مسبقًا خلال العام الدراسى. عدم تقديم تقرير طبي عن تغيب الطالب لأي من الاختبارات سيؤدي إلى عدم منح الطالب اى علامة.
