Principal's Update

Dear Parents

I hope you and the family are well and enjoyed the February half term break as a family.  I am hopeful that the school is returning to how it used to operate prior to the pandemic, & as a school we are awaiting for both the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to confirm that many of the COVID-19 restrictions imposed on the school have been removed.

Registration / Re-registration

I am pleased to report that many parents have re-registered their children for the 2022 - 23 academic year.  I would appeal to those parents who have yet to re-register to do so as a matter of urgency.  As School Principal I am available to discuss the re-registration of your child.  Simply  contact the school to arrange an appointment.

The school continues to register new students and entry examinations have taken place.  Please encourage friends and family members to register their children for the 2022 - 23 academic year.  The next entrance examination is taking place on Saturday 12th March 2022.  

Punctuality & Attendance 

There has been a noticeable increase in the number of older students arriving late to school.  In addition, it would appear that some students even though they are dropped off at the school gate well in advance of the start time are taking the decision to go to McDonalds.  There is also an increasingly minority of students whose attendance to school is not acceptable.  I would appreciate it if you could speak to your children about these matters.  The school is putting in place the necessary measures to address poor punctuality and attendance which will be implemented shortly.  It is hoped that these measures will not need to be enforced following your intervention.

Year 8 into Year 9

The parents of Year 8 students are meeting with the Head of Secondary, Mr O’Connor, and myself on an individual basis to ensure that their children are ready to begin their IGCSE programme of study. All Year 9 students will begin the IGCSE programme in September 2022.  This is a significant departure from previous years when only a select few students were allowed to do this.  

School Summer Uniform

From Sunday 13th March 2022 students need to revert to wearing their summer uniform.  

Parent Consultation Days - 30th / 31st March 2022

Parent Consultation Days will take place on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st March 2022.  These meetings with teachers will be achieved remotely by hosting Google Meetings.  Parents will be able to schedule a meeting with their children’s teachers.

Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony for Year 11 students will be taking place on Thursday 31st March 2022 at The Regency Hotel.

Ramadan - amendment to the school day

It is anticipated that Ramadan will take place on or around 2nd April 2022.  As such the school day will begin at 9:00 and end at 13:00.  

Study Leave - Year 11 and 12 Students

Year 11 and Year 12 students will begin study leave from Thursday 14th April 2022.  It is imperative that all students in Years 11 and 12 attend school up to and including Thursday 14th April 2022.  Students in 10B who will be sitting IGCSEs in the core subjects - English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics - will be allowed to be absent from school one day before each examination.

REMINDER: Year 9 into Year 10

Parents of Year 9 students are invited to attend the Options Evening taking place in the auditorium on Wednesday 9th March 2022, 17:00 to 19:00. Mr O’Connor has already held two Google Meets with parents and students on this matter where he made them aware of how the process has changed.  A recording of each Google Meet is available from the relevant Google Classrooms.

REMINDER: Year 6 into Year 7

From April onwards the focus will be on preparing Year 6 students for secondary school.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss your child’s move from Year 6 to Year 7.

أولياء الأمور الكرام،

تحية طيبة وبعد،،

أتمنى أن تكونوا أنتم وعائلتكم بصحة جيدة و قضيتم اجازة ممتعة وسعيدة.  آمل أن تعود المدرسة إلى الطريقة التي كانت تعمل بها قبل الوباء حيث ننتظر من وزارة الصحة ووزارة التربية والتعليم أن تؤكد أن العديد من قيود COVID-19 المفروضة على المدرسة قد انتهت.

التسجيل / إعادة التسجيل للعام الدراسي 2022/23

يسعدني أن أبلغكم أن العديد من أولياء الأمور قد أعادوا تسجيل ابنائهم / بناتهم  للعام الدراسي 2022-23. وأود أن أناشد أولياء الأمور الذين لم يسجلوا حتى الآن  أن يقوموا باعادة التسجيل على وجه السرعة. بصفتي مدير المدرسة ، يرجي العلم أنى متاح لمناقشة إعادة تسجيل ابنكم/ ابنتكم اذا رغبتم،  ما عليك سوى الاتصال بالمدرسة لترتيب موعد.

تواصل المدرسة تسجيل الطلاب الجدد وأجريت اختبارات القبول. يرجى تشجيع الأصدقاء وأفراد الأسرة على تسجيل أطفالهم للعام الدراسي 2022 - 23. سيجرى امتحان القبول التالي يوم السبت 12 مارس 2022.

الالتزام بالمواعيد والحضور إلى المدرسة

لقد تم ملاحظة زيادة عدد طلاب المرحلة الثانوية  الذين يصلون متأخرين إلى المدرسة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك هناك بعض الطلاب وعلى الرغم من وصولهم عند بوابة المدرسة في وقت مبكر في الصباح يتخذون قرارًا بالذهاب إلى ماكدونالدز. هناك أيضًا أقلية متزايدة من الطلاب الذين يتغيبون عن المدرسة و هذا غير مقبول . يرجى التحدث تحدثت مع أبنائكم / وبناتكم حول هذه الأمور  حيث ستتخذ المدرسة الإجراءات اللازمة لمعالجة ضعف الالتزام بالمواعيد والحضور والتي سيتم تنفيذها قريبًا.  ونأمل ألا تكون هناك حاجة إلى تنفيذ هذه الإجراءات بعد تدخلكم.

طلاب الصف الثامن المنتقلين الى الصف التاسع

يلتقي أولياء أمور طلاب الصف الثامن معى ومع  مشرف المرحلة الثانوية - السيد أوكونور من خلال اجتماعات فردية للتأكد من أن ابنائهم / بناتهم مستعدون لبدء برنامج الدراسة في IGCSE وسيبدأ طلاب الصف التاسع جميعًا برنامج IGCSE في سبتمبر 2022 و يعد هذا  تغييرا فعالا ومهمًا عن السنوات السابقة التي كان  يسُمح لعدد قليل فقط من الطلاب القيام بذلك.

الزي المدرسي الصيفي

اعتبارًا من يوم الأحد الموافق 13 مارس 2022 ، يجب على الطلاب ارتداء الزي الصيفي الخاص بهم.

اجتماع أولياء الأمور يومي 30 / 31 مارس 2022

سيعقد اجتماع اولياء الامور يومي الاربعاء الموافق 30 مارس والخميس  الموافق 31 مارس 2022 . وستعقد هذه الاجتماعات من خلال Google Meet ويمكن لأولياء الأمور ترتيب الموعد المناسب مع مدرس الصف الخاص بابنائهم/ بناتهم .

حفل التخرج

سيقام حفل تخرج طلاب الصف 11 يوم الخميس الموافق 31 مارس 2022 في فندق ريجنسي.

رمضان - مواعيد اليوم الدراسي

من المتوقع أن يصادف شهر رمضان الكريم  يوم السبت الموافق  2 أبريل 2022، لذا سيبدأ اليوم الدراسي في تمام الساعة التاسعة صباحا وينتهى فى تمام الساعة الواحدة ظهرا.

الإجازة الدراسية - لطلاب الصفوف 11 و 12

سيبدأ طلاب الصفوف  11 و 12 إجازة الدراسة اعتبارًا من الخميس الموافق 14 أبريل 2022. ومن الضروري أن يواظب جميع الطلاب في الصفين 11 و 12 على الحضور الى المدرسة حتى يوم الخميس 14 أبريل 2022. الطلاب في الصف 10B الذين سيحضرون IGCSEs في المواد الأساسية (الرياضيات، اللغة الانجليزية ، الفيزياء، الكيمياء، والأحياء) سيسمح لهم بالتغيب عن المدرسة قبل يوم واحد من موعد كل اختبار.

تذكير : طلاب الصف التاسع المنتقلين للصف العاشر

أولياء أمور طلاب الصف التاسع مدعوون لحضور أمسية اختيارات المواد التي تقام في مسرح المدرسة  يوم الأربعاء 9 مارس 2022 ، من الساعة 17:00 إلى الساعة 19:00. عقد السيد / أوكونور بالفعل اجتماعين من اجتماعات Google مع أولياء الأمور والطلاب بشأن هذا الأمر حيث أطلعهم على كيفية تغيير النهج المتبع. بإمكانكم مراجعة التسجيل الخاص بهذين الاجتماعيين Google Meet على  Google Classroom  ذات الصلة.

طلاب الصف السادس المنتقلين الى الصف السابع

اعتبارًا من أبريل فصاعدًا ، سيكون التركيز على إعداد طلاب الصف السادس للمرحلة الثانوية. يُرجى عدم التردد في الاتصال بي إذا كنت ترغب في مناقشة انتقال ابنكم / ابنتكم من الصف السادس إلى الصف السابع.
